Despite all of the talk about coronavirus around the world, doctors in northeast Wisconsin are still more concerned about the flu right now.
Infection Prevention Director Anne Reeths of Aurora BayCare Medical Center says flu activity is currently high.
She says they’re taking similar precautions for that illness, and coronavirus, when people plan to come for a doctor’s visit. Reeths says they have some screening questions, and they include the patient’s recent travel history.
There haven’t been any confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wisconsin yet. At least 360 people have died in China, so far.
The CDC estimates there have been 25,000 flu-related deaths across the U.S. this season.
