A group is celebrating the birthday of Rosa Parks by calling for more transit funding in the Fox Cities.
Members of ESTHER handed out roses to bus riders, and talked with them at the transit center in downtown Appleton this morning.
John Levine of ESTHER wants to expand Valley Transit services because buses are a lifeline for people needing to get to work, and to go shopping.
The group would like to see bus routes that go to businesses west of the Fox River Mall, and further north on Richmond Street in Appleton. Members are also calling for more frequent stops along several routes.
