A former candidate for Appleton mayor is running for the job for a third time.
Marsha Brewer will be one of eight people squaring off in the February 18th primary.
Brewer spent two years on the city council in the late 1980s.
She says she’d like to put the new, mixed-use library project on the current library parking lot site, with owner-occupied housing. She hopes to use the existing library for meeting space, a senior center, or offices. She thinks City Hall should stay in the City Center.
Brewer also wants to build underground parking on the Soldiers Square parking ramp site, as part of a bigger project. She says the top level could have green space for the YMCA to use.
Brewer says she has the most educational experience in the race. She’s a law school graduate, and she audited public administration classes at UW-Oshkosh.
WHBY will talk with all eight candidates leading up to the primary.
