The New York Times reports that Kirk Douglas died at home Wednesday afternoon. He was 103.
As an actor, Douglas was a household name in America where fans watched him in films such as Spartacus, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Paths of Glory, and many more — over 80 movies in all.
His life was immense, even without considering the acting roles he played. Douglas produced many films, authored multiple books, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, survived a helicopter crash and years later a stroke, and engaged in various charitable endeavors.
