A state lawmaker from northeast Wisconsin says the first step in the PFAS nightmare is done.
Governor Evers signed a bill that restricts firefighting foam containing PFAS chemicals.
Republican Sen. Rob Cowles of Allouez was a co-author. He wants to prevent other areas from having to deal with problems facing the Marinette area, where PFAS got into the groundwater.
Cowles has a separate bill to take the foam out of fire stations, and dispose of it in a safe way.
