Now that President Trump won the impeachment battle, a Republican senator from Wisconsin doesn’t think Democrats would try again before November, even if new evidence would come forward.
U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson of Oshkosh believes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi learned her lesson. He says if Trump gets re-elected, it’s possible another impeachment proceeding could happen in the future.
Johnson is optimistic Congress can still work together before the November election. He hopes they can pass a bi-partisan bill to put an end to government shutdowns in the future.
He says in Wisconsin’s state government, if there’s a budget impasse, funding continues at the existing levels.
Johnson was on Fresh Take on WHBY this morning.
