A new state grant will help fund a peer-to-peer counseling program in Neenah schools.
Val Neff from NAMI Fox Valley says advice from others students carries a lot of weight with kids. She says somebody with their own experiences with living well with mental health, supporting another student. She believes it’s important in preventing substance abuse and suicide.
The state recently created a $250,000 fund to help pay for peer-to-peer counseling services. Neenah is getting $1,000 for the Sources of Strength program.
