A developer can put together plans for the former Blue Ramp and Conway Hotel site in downtown Appleton.
The city is agreeing to a planning option that runs through the end of the year.
Merge Urban Development Group wants to explore a mixed-use development on the site, behind the City Center and City Hall.
Ald. Patti Coenen says it’s really great to see interest in that land, and to bring more traffic to the area behind the City Center.
Ald. Vered Meltzer hopes the project will include some affordable housing units.
Merge is also working on a mixed-use development along Marion Road in Oshkosh. The Oshkosh Co-op hopes to open in one of those buildings.
