An assistant to Lawrence University’s president is one of the eight candidates in the race for Appleton mayor.
Jake Woodford says that’s given him experience with the city. He says he’s helped foster the relationship between the city and the school, and he’s worked with city department heads.
Woodford is also a member of the Appleton Redevelopment Authority.
Woodford thinks the proposed U.S. Venture project would be great for the downtown, but he also wants to make sure taxpayer money would be used responsibly.
Eight people are running for mayor, and they’ll meet in the February 18th primary.
WHBY News will talk with all of them before the election.
