Republicans want to give farmers a tax credit, and help them save money on health insurance costs.
Those are two of the proposals they’re pushing, after Governor Evers introduced his own plans last month.
Rep. Travis Tranel of Cuba City says farmers would be eligible for a tax credit of up to $7,500 for three years. They would also be able to deduct their health insurance costs from their property tax bill.
Evers is proposing to help expand export markets, provide mental health services, and add more UW-Extension staff.
