The flu season is getting worse in Wisconsin, and the virus is now to blame for the death of a second child.
The state Department of Health Services says the child was from the southern part of the state.
The agency’s Tom Haupt says this morning alone, they had reports of at least 100 new hospitalizations. He says they’ve had more than 500 hospitalizations over the past week, and that’s up significantly.
Haupt says it could be several weeks before the peak of the flu season hits. And he expects that will be followed by many more weeks of high flu activity.
That’s why Haupt says it’s still not too late to get a flu shot.
