A Democrat from Appleton wants the Hmong community to know that northeast Wisconsin stands with them.
Rep. Amanda Stuck and other local leaders got together in Appleton today to oppose the Trump administration’s reported talks with Laos. There are fears some refugees could be deported.
Stuck says she’s going to introduce a proposal at the state level, condemning any deportations. She says Appleton Mayor Tim Hanna is also working with other mayors around the state, to send a letter to the Trump administration.
Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich, Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson, and several members of the Appleton city council held a press conference at the Long Cheng Marketplace in Appleton.
