Majority Republicans in the Legislature are planning to finish their work for the year next month, and that’s not sitting well with Governor Evers.
The Assembly met for the last scheduled time last week. The Senate is holding one more session day next month.
Evers says lawmakers are being paid, and they should be working on issues. He says they need to help farmers, and he hopes they can come to a compromise on how to use the projected state budget surplus.
Evers could bring lawmakers to the Capitol by calling a special session. Republicans could call themselves back, by holding what’s called an extraordinary session.
