Wisconsin’s presidential primary is still more than a month away, but one candidate is already running plenty of ads.
Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has already spent $1.3 million in northeast Wisconsin since the start of the year.
St. Norbert College Political Science Professor Charley Jacobs doesn’t think Bloomberg is actually trying to win the state. He believes Bloomberg is looking to prevent other candidates from clinching the nomination, before July’s convention in Milwaukee.
Jacobs says that way, it’s possible Bloomberg or another moderate, like Joe Biden could emerge.
Bloomberg hasn’t even been on the ballot in the three states that have held primaries or caucuses so far.
