A Waupaca man is facing an attempted murder charge in the shooting of his girlfriend.
Waupaca County prosecutors say 27-year-old Jonathan Cardosa called 911 and admitted he shot her. They say he told a dispatcher they’d have to kill him, and he had a bomb in his truck.
Waupaca police found the woman in a house, and she was flown by a helicopter to ThedaCare’s Neenah hospital.
Prosecutors say after officers used stop sticks on Cardosa’s truck, he eventually dropped a gun and surrendered.
They say he shot the woman because he thought she was cheating on him.
