A panel of health experts is breaking down the implications of the coronavirus or COVID-19.
The group met yesterday at U-W Green Bay.
Brian Merkel is an associate professor of microbiology and immunology.
He’s optimistic about swab test kits being developed and vaccines being tested.
Merkel doesn’t want the coronavirus to become endemic, something that they deal with every year.
The virus has been hitting older people whose immune systems aren’t as effective.
So far there’s no report of the virus attacking children.
