The longtime leader of a statewide advocacy group against domestic violence is retiring.
Patti Seger’s last day at End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin is tomorrow. Seger started as a volunteer in 1980, and she spent 15 years as the executive director.
She believes the biggest challenge is to try to figure out how to prevent domestic abuse. She says they need to continue to provide life-saving intervention services, and they can’t stop until domestic violence ends. But she says they also need to focus on prevention, because otherwise they’ll never end it.
The group plans to have an interim director, until a permanent replacement is in place.
Seger wants to take some time off before deciding what she’ll do next.
