The annual CP Telethon is on WBAY-TV this weekend.
The event raises money for CP, a local group that provides therapy programs, adult day services, and child care for people with cerebral palsy.
News Anchor Jeff Alexander says it’s the nation’s longest-running local telethon. He says there will be a lot of inspiring stories, and great entertainment. He says local businesses help by having volunteers run the telephones.
The 66th annual telethon starts Saturday night, and it runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. It continues on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The CP Telethon brought in just over $1.4 million last year.
