Wisconsin’s Democrat in the U.S. Senate is pushing for emergency paid sick leave, if workers are impacted by coronavirus.
Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Madison is working on a bill that would require business owners to provide an additional 14 days during a public health emergency. Those days would cover the time a person or family member is quarantined or isolated. They would also count if a child’s school is closed, or their company shuts down.
Businesses would need to eventually give workers a chance to earn seven days of paid sick leave.
