Coronavirus is leading some people to stay home, and that’s bringing down gas prices.
Allison Mac of Gas Buddy says in Wisconsin, the price for a gallon fell by nine cents over the past week. Right now, it’s at around $2.12 in the Appleton area.
Mac thinks by the end of the week, gas will cost less than $2 a gallon. She says it comes down to basic economics, with supply outpacing demand. She says Russia and Saudi Arabia haven’t slowed production, and that’s not helping oil prices.
Mac says at this time of the year, gas prices are typically going up because people are traveling more.
