It will now be up to doctors to order any tests for coronavirus.
Dr. Ryan Westergaard of the Department of Health Services says they used to have to be cleared by their state agency. He says they want to be more aggressive in finding cases, and being able to respond to any, to prevent it from spreading.
The state is reporting 37 negative tests, and one positive so far. The one person was quarantined at home and recovered.
Westergaard says two private labs in Wisconsin are now able to run tests. The state hygiene lab in Madison and the Milwaukee public health department can already do that.
