A local Republican lawmaker wants the Senate to take up several proposals that are expected to help the homeless.
Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke of Vandenbroek says there are seven bills waiting for a vote. He says they would make it easier for people to have a stable place to stay, and get the services they need to get back on their feet.
Steineke was on Fresh Take on WHBY this morning, and he also announced that he’s running for another term this fall.
Steineke was first elected to the Assembly in 2010. He became the Majority Leader in 2015.
