The New London St. Patrick’s Day Parade is cancelled, along with the annual Irish Fest tent.
The city was supposed to hold the events on Saturday, March 21st.
City Administrator Leo Leone says organizers got together with community leaders to make the decision.
Organizers will still rename the city “New Dublin” next Monday. Hooligan Day will still be celebrated on Tuesday.
All other weekday activities are cancelled.
Leone says the Saturday events are a huge loss. The Irish Fest tent raised money for charity. For downtown businesses, he says it was just like Black Friday.
