Many states NY, OH, CA, IL (including Wisconsin) have enacted a strict ‘stay-in-place’ mandate where all but essential businesses are to remain closed and your ass is supposed to sit tight for the foreseeable future.
Along with hospitals, gas stations, grocery stores and pharmacies, states with legal recreational/medical marijuana laws in place have deemed cannabis dispensaries ‘essential‘. California is one of those states where marijuana retailers will be able to keep their doors open. Dispensaries (with medical marijuana licensing) were listed as an essential service under “Healthcare Operations,” along with hospitals, dentists and pharmacies. Marijuana (after an initial snub) is considered a ‘needed medicine’.
Dispensaries are getting creative with this new business model. Allowing only a certain number of people in at one time, strict employee hygiene policies, adjusted hours, placing ‘X’s’ on sidewalks outside to help people maintain a proper social distance, not allowing ‘smell testing’ of their product and other measures allowing you to purchase that sweet, sweet cheeba. Besides, You need something to get you through that Netflix marathon or to drive away the ‘stir crazies’ that are sure to come.
Be cool to each other.
