Brown County Sheriff’s deputies are warning people about an impostor.
They say a white man in his 30s stopped two people in the southern part of the county to see if they’re “in compliance.”
The man has a short brown beard, and he was wearing a green uniform with a plain black baseball hat. He was driving a dark blue or black Chevy Impala, with red and blue lights along the windshield.
Prosecutors can file charges against people for impersonating police.
Local police say they won’t stop random drivers to check if they’re following the statewide “safer at home” order.
