Where it used to be, “Go home Wisconsin, You’re Drunk,” has now turned into “Stay home Wisconsin, You’re Drunk.” But according to a new survey the Badger State isn’t even the Top 10 of states drinking while quarantined. Wa… Wa… WHAT?!
Where’s the rummy Wisconsin I used to know?!
The poll, conducted by cooking and BBQ website Seriously Smoked, analyzed more than 200,000 geo-tagged tweets over the last 30 days. They used keywords, phrases, and hashtags concerning drinking, liquor, booze, etc. The Lone Star State, Texas, went big per usual, topping the survey at #1.
The rest of the Top 10 are..
2. California
3. New Mexico
4. Hawaii
5. Arizona
6. Nevada
7. Louisiana
8. Mississippi
9. Idaho
10. Georgia
Shockingly, Wisconsin was waaaayyyy down the list.
According to my Facebook timeline, we’re drinking plenty and often – with my friends even setting up ‘virtual happy hours’ so we can still drink together, while apart. Which with social-distancing isn’t a bad idea… we do need to socialize during these isolating times – just so the alcohol you’re drinking isn’t hand sanatizer (again… you shouldn’t) Go For It!
