A Marinette Republican is taking himself out of the running for a state Senate seat.
Rep. John Nygren says he won’t seek the 30th District spot. It will be open in November, because Democratic Sen. Dave Hansen of Green Bay is retiring.
Nygren believes he can better serve his community by staying in the Assembly, and continuing to be the co-chair of the Legislature’s budget committee.
