The state’s top education official says there’s a “laptop gap” in Wisconsin schools.
Superintendent of Schools Carolyn Stanford-Taylor points out while many districts shifted to online learning during the school shutdown, others have to mail packets of materials to kids.
Stanford-Taylor says that can’t be fixed by just buying computers. She says some districts can’t afford them, and then some families don’t have Internet access at home.
Stanford-Taylor hopes private companies might step up to provide laptops and Wi-Fi access to all kids across Wisconsin.
