One day after those teases from Johnny Van Zant and Ricky Medlocke, Lynyrd Skynyrd have released a new song that will be available via streaming or free download for the next week.

Written by Gary Rossington, Johnny Van Zant, Rickey Medlocke and Tom Hambridge, “Last of the Street Survivors” is filled with references to the band’s history and legacy. Its title references Skynyrd’s fifth album, 1977’s Street Survivors, was released three days before the plane crash that claimed the lives of three band members.
At time of publishing, Lynyrd Skynyrd are still scheduled to perform September 19 in Madison at the Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center.
