Congressman Mike Gallagher wants to use more than $350 million in a federal presidential election campaign fund to buy personal protective equipment and other medical supplies.
The Green Bay Republican says taxpayers can donate money to the fund and more than $100 million has been spent over the past 16 years. Gallagher says no winning presidential candidates have used the money and no one in this year’s race is taking any.
He believes it’s an outdated program.
