As promised, Dave Grohl posted his complete Instagram Story about the time David Bowie told him in an e-mail to “F*** off.”
In the 10-page tale, the Foo Fighter uses reading that line from the late singer as a launching point for all his intersections with the Thin White Duke, from listening to David Live as a kid, to playing “The Man Who Sold the World” at Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged taping, to participating in Bowie’s 50th birthday concert at Madison Square Garden, to guesting on a Bowie recording at a studio in L.A.
