Forbes Magazine has put out its list of the most passionate sports fans in the US. To me, the biggest surprises in the top 10 are the inclusion of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who I have a hard time remembering exist, and the exclusion of the New York Yankees, who are often celebrated for their extreme fandom.
What I was least surprised by was that number one is US. Green Bay Packer fans! The most passionate in all of sportsdom! Of course, they chose us as number one. As we all know, Packer fans not only bleed green and gold, some lactate it as well! Congratulations, Packer fans! We’ve earned this!
And Packer fans prove that you can be passionate without being douche bags who celebrate big wins by tipping cars over or setting their city on fire. While passionate, Packer fans are more like the kind of fans who celebrate by tossing confetti in the street before collecting it and sorting it into proper bins for curbside recycling. The kind of fans who DON’T put the “ass” in passionate.
