UW System President Ray Cross says no campuses are at risk of closing but programs will be cut and there will be layoffs.
He’s asking campus officials to identify programs that should be kept.
Cross wants campuses to complete evaluations of their programs by January with an eye toward cost. The factors will include student demand, and whether they’re duplicated at another campus.
He says System officials will decide what courses stay. Cross expects scaled-down class lists by fall of 2021.
