One of the largest fishing tournaments on Lake Winnebago is cancelled.
The Mercury National Walleye Tournament won’t be held in Fond du Lac next month because of public health concerns. It’s the first time the event has been cancelled in 42 years.
The tournament is the cornerstone of the annual Walleye Weekend at Lakeside Park. Organizers still hope to hold the festival in August.
