Brown County and two lawmakers are asking the state to cover the local costs of responding to last month’s COVID-19 outbreak.
Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher of Green Bay and Republican Sen. Rob Cowles of Allouez want Governor Evers to use money from the federal stimulus package.
County Executive Troy Streckenbach says they’ll also try to get funding from FEMA. He says the agency can cover up to 75 percent of local government costs, and he’ll ask the state to pay for the rest.
He says the county has had to help pay for the community testing sites, and isolation centers.
