40 years ago (May 22nd, 1980) the arcade/video game Pac-Man was unleashed upon arcades nationwide and allowances would never be the same again. The franchise would go on to become one of the most beloved video games of all time and spawn everything from movies, cartoons and cereal to apparel and even a hit record (Pac-Man Fever from Buckner & Garcia).
One statistic I would love to know is, how much money (collectively) was pumped into Pac-Man arcade games over the years?
Let’s not short-change the ‘ghosts’. Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde.
Each having a distinct in-game personality.
Inky (the blue/green-ish ghost) real name Bashful – was unpredictable in his chasing style.
Blinky (red) – real name Shadow – relentlessly chases Pac-Man around the board.
Pinky (pink) – real name Speedy (who’s listed as a female ghost) – uses ambushing techniques while chasing Pac-Man.
Clyde (orange) – real name Pokey – pursues Pac-Man like Blinky, but when he gets close meanders away.

🌝 Pac-Man, the OG of Arcade Games, was released 40 years ago in 1980 - spawning everything from Cartoons to Cereal. But as we all know, a hero need a villian and Pac-Man had FOUR spectral antagonists; INKY, BLINKY, PINKY and CLYDE.
