For the third straight night there was a protest in downtown Appleton over the death of George Floyd.
Hundreds of people gathered at Houdini Plaza. The event was peaceful and there weren’t any reports of damage. There was some tension when police showed up but that changed after a discussion between the two sides. Eventually protest leaders and police embraced each other arm in arm during a march through downtown. Appleton Police Chief Todd Thomas says he agrees with some of the concerns people have about police. He thinks law enforcement in some parts of the country have a lot of work to do.
