Need an excuse to listen to more Rush? Of course you don’t, but here is one anyways. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Permanent Waves, Rush has revealed a new animated video for their song “The Spirit Of Radio”.
The video honors the spirit of radio by showing pioneering DJs working the dials to bring the music into our homes and also pays homage Neil Peart. The Rush drummer died of cancer earlier this year at the age of 67.
“The Spirit Of Radio” was the first single off of Permanent Waves, which was released in 1980 and the band’s seventh studio album. Rush has also released a box set honoring the 40th anniversary of Permanent Waves. The “unboxing video” released by the band can be seen below.
