A 37-year-old man is dead after drowning in the Fond du Lac River.
He was pulled from the river after an hour long search. Officials say he was fishing when he saw friends on the other side of the river. He jumped in and swam over. After a visit he started swimming back. Friends say half way across they saw him struggling and thrashing in the water. He went under. They called 911. One person jumped in to save him but couldn’t find the man.
He was eventually found downstream. He didn’t have a pulse when he was pulled out. Paramedics began life-saving efforts and took him to St. Agnes Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
