Prevea Health’s president says demand for coronavirus testing is up significantly.
Dr. Ashok Rai tells Action 2 News about 470 people were tested in Brown County yesterday, and most of them had symptoms. He says the percent of positive tests is around five percent in the county, and he thinks that’s a little high.
Rai is very concerned about younger people testing positive, because they can spread it to older, more vulnerable people. He hopes they don’t have a jump in hospitalizations in two or three weeks.
Rai says they’re also seeing more cases among people working in enclosed settings, where it might not be as possible to follow social distancing guidelines.
