President Trump says the new U.S. Navy contract with Marinette Marine will lead to more than 1,000 jobs at the company, and several thousand through the supply chain.
He was in Marinette this afternoon to tour the shipbuilder’s facility.
Trump says he wanted to redesign the new ships, calling the old ones “not a good looking ship.” He says Marinette Marine gave him a model of the new one, and he called it “beatiful,” adding it looks like a “yacht with missiles on it.”
Trump and Air Force One landed at Austin Straubel International Airport in the Green Bay area early this afternoon.
He joined Sean Hannity for a town hall meeting at the airport, and it will be on Fox News tonight.
Trump flew to Marinette in the Marine One helicopter.
