Menasha police want prosecutors to file an attempted murder charge against a man, after they say he held his girlfriend hostage and beat her.
They say the Menasha woman escaped from the home on Plank Road and called police, after several hours. They accuse the 27-year-old man of hitting, kicking, and strangling the woman until she was temporarily unconscious.
The man is in the Winnebago County jail.
