Organizers are going to hold Sovereign State Days in Winneconne this month, but some traditional activities will be canceled.
The community’s annual tongue-in-cheek celebration started more than 50 years ago, after a map mistake. It’s set for July 17-19.
Group president Jordan Dunham says because of coronavirus concerns, they won’t hold the family fun night. But he says the parade will go on, on Saturday, July 18th, with a longer route, so people can spread out.
They’ll have fireworks Friday night, and the softball tournament will also get underway.
Most of the Sovereign State Days activities will be at Waterfront Park.
