A 22-year-old man charged with killing three people is accused of speeding up to 104 miles an hour, just seconds before a crash in Green Bay.
Prosecutors are filing three counts of second-degree reckless homicide against Abdi Ahmed.
They say the victims were turning into a gas station along Lombardi Avenue last month. Fifty-seven-year-old Sonia Gonzalez, her 27-year-old daughter Sonia Gonzalez-Guillen, and the daughter’s boyfriend 28-year-old Jessie Saldana were killed.
A translator read a statement from Hector Guillen-Gonzalez, during a court hearing yesterday. He wants the maximum justice to be done to Ahmed for taking three innocent lives.
Jessie Saldana’s mother also had a statement that was read by the translator. She says his death tore all of their family apart, and to them, now everything is darkness.
If Ahmed is convicted of all three charges, he could face up to 75 years in prison.
