The state set a single-day record for new confirmed coronavirus cases for the second time in the past six days.
There are 754 more cases in Wisconsin, after 5.7 percent of new tests came back positive. Yesterday’s percentage was 5.6 percent.
The state has now had 33,908 confirmed cases overall.
There are 6,302 active cases, and that’s 265 more than yesterday. It’s also the highest total since at least early June. Two weeks ago, there were 4,900 active cases. Seventy-nine percent of confirmed cases have recovered.
Hospitals are treating 285 patients with COVID-19, and that’s nine more than yesterday. It’s also the most since June 14th. Another 168 patients are waiting for test results.
The state is reporting 809 confirmed deaths, and that’s two more than yesterday.
Brown County has 36 new cases, Winnebago 21, and Outagamie 16.
Fond du Lac added seven, Calumet six, and Waupaca five.
Manitowoc and Oconto each have four more. Shawano and Kewaunee both added two.
