The Brillion school district will bring students back to class on August 24th.
Superintendent Nick Madison says they had to get permission from the state Department of Public Instruction, because the date is about one week earlier than what’s allowed, under state law. He thought more districts would be doing the same thing, but so far, he’s only heard of about a dozen others.
Madison says they want to start earlier so they can reestablish a relationship with kids, especially if they need to go back to virtual learning at some point during the year.
