Lower-than-normal demand is keeping gas prices down, and a spokesman for AAA Wisconsin thinks that’s unusual.
Nick Jarmusz says demand should be peaking around this time of the summer. He says it’s also the first time since late April that the national average price declined.
Jarmusz believes virus flare-ups in some communities are keeping people from taking long drives.
He says the average price for a gallon in the Appleton area is down about four cents from a month ago, and 73 cents lower than a year ago.
