A Marinette County woman is pleading no contest to a charge she hid her mother’s body to collect social security payments.
Sixty-one-year-old Paula Bergold will be sentenced in October.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to Ruby Bergold’s home in the Town of Peshtigo, in September of last year, to check on the 89-year-old woman. Prosecutors say Paula told them her mother’s body was in a tub in the basement.
