YouTube musician Mark Grocki has done a very interesting cover of one of Metallica’s most famous tracks.
“One” was recorded on Metallica’s 1988 album, “…And Justice For All,” the band’s first album following the tragic death of bassist Cliff Burton in a 1986 bus accident. That record’s mix notoriously limits the bass parts of newcomer Jason Newsted for various reasons that have been documented over the years.
Grocki’s cover fixes all that, recording all guitar and vocal parts from the song on bass. The drums this new version, however, are still Lars Ulrich’s original recordings from the studio version. Check out the video below.
