Brown County Sheriff’s deputies won’t enforce the mandatory mask order set by Governor Evers.
Sheriff Todd Delain says deputies won’t respond to complaints, and they won’t take direct action against anyone violating the mandate.
He says they will go to businesses, if they call because someone they ask to leave because they’re not wearing a mask won’t comply. Delain says their focus won’t be on the mask, but the disturbance that person could cause.
He believes the governor’s mandate is supposed to be educational, and not punitive.
